What You’ll Study: MSc Environmental Governance (MEG)
The MEG programme offers a multidisciplinary education at the intersection of environmental science, public policy, and sustainability governance. Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is open to qualified professionals from DAC-listed developing countries who:
- Completed their Bachelor’s degree within the past 6 years (before October 2025)
- Have at least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience (excluding internships and volunteering)
- Graduated in the top third of their class
- Have not resided in Germany for more than 15 months prior to the application deadline
- Show strong motivation for pursuing a second Master’s, if already holding one
- Meet both DAAD EPOS and MEG programme requirements
Note: Teaching or academic roles are not considered valid work experience unless exceptionally justified.

Applicants must submit the following materials:
- DAAD Application Form (ensure consistency across all documents)
- MEG Application Form
- Motivation Letter (max. 2 pages, dated)
Submit a second letter if applying to more than one EPOS programme
- Curriculum Vitae (Europass format, reverse-chronological order, no gaps)
- Transcript of Records with certified translation (if applicable)
- Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (+ Master’s if applicable)
- Proof of Professional Experience (official letterhead, signed and stamped)
- Two Recommendation Letters:
- One from current employer (DAAD requirement)
- One from academic supervisor (MEG requirement)
Proof of English Proficiency (valid TOEFL iBT 95+, IELTS Band 7, Cambridge C1, or PTE 76)
- Test must be valid or scheduled by October 15, 2025
- Signed DAAD Checklist (hand-signed only)
- APS Certificate (required for applicants from China, India, Vietnam; can be submitted later)
