Introduction
The Taiwan Fellowship 2025, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan), invites global scholars to apply for a prestigious opportunity to conduct research at academic institutions in Taiwan.
This fellowship supports international experts in the humanities and social sciences who are working on topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia-Pacific region, or Sinology.

Who Can Apply?
Eligible Applicants:
Applicants must be foreign nationals who are currently one of the following:
- Professors, Associate Professors, or Assistant Professors
- Postdoctoral Researchers
- Doctoral Candidates or Doctoral Program Students
- Research Fellows at equivalent levels in overseas academic institutions
Note: Candidates currently studying, teaching, or conducting research in Taiwan are not eligible.

Fellowship Benefits
1. Travel Subsidy
- One round-trip economy-class ticket from the applicant’s country to Taiwan
- Maximum reimbursement: NT$35,000 (approx. USD 1,080)
- Recipients must provide tickets, receipts, and boarding passes upon arrival
2. Monthly Stipend
- NT$60,000 (approx. USD 1,850): Professors, associate professors, and senior research fellows
- NT$50,000 (approx. USD 1,540): Assistant professors, postdocs, PhD students, and others endorsed by ROC missions
Fellowship Duration
- Minimum: 3 months
- Maximum: 12 months
- Research must take place within the 2025 calendar year
