The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026 offers outstanding international students the opportunity to pursue their Master’s degree in the Netherlands with generous financial support. This prestigious award is aimed at non-EU/EEA students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and wish to study at the University of Twente (UT), one of Europe’s leading research universities.
Each year, about 50 scholarships are awarded, with funding ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 per academic year. For students in two-year Master’s programmes, the scholarship may also be extended into the second year, provided strong academic results are maintained.

The University of Twente Scholarship 2026 provides:

Eligible Nationalities
- Open to non-EU/EEA international students only
- Not available to Dutch nationals or current UT students
- Students applying to ITC or pre-Master’s programmes are not eligible

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold (provisional) admission to a UT Master’s programme for the 2026/27 academic year
- Have a valid UT student number
- Meet English proficiency requirements:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall, minimum 6.0 in speaking
- TOEFL iBT: 90, minimum 20 in speaking
- Belong to the top 5–10% of their class academically
- Not be a graduate of the University of Twente
- Meet Dutch visa requirements (if applicable)
Additional Scholarship: Kipaji Scholarship
Recipients of the UTS may also apply for the Kipaji Scholarship, which provides extra support to students with exceptional potential. Applicants must indicate interest in their UTS motivation letter.

The UTS application is separate from the Master’s admission process.

- Closes: 1 February 2026 (16:00 CET)
Round 2
- Opens: 1 February 2026 (16:00 CET)
- Closes: 1 May 2026 (16:00 CET)
Note: Applicants unsuccessful in Round 1 cannot reapply in Round 2.

- Apply for admission to a UT Master’s programme.
- Once admitted (conditionally or fully), obtain your UT student number.
- Submit your UTS application online using your student number.
