Introduction
University of Zurich & Polish Government Scholarships. The University of Zurich, in collaboration with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), is pleased to announce the Polish Government Scholarships 2025 for Swiss nationals. Offered under the Zawacka NAWA Programme, this initiative supports fully funded academic exchanges in Poland for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Swiss students, PhD candidates, and researchers can now apply for short-term study, research stays, or academic internships in any field of study at recognised Polish universities.

This scholarship programme is open to individuals pursuing or holding:

Types of Supported Stays
1. Academic Studies (Part-Time)
- Enrol in part-time academic courses at a Polish university.
- Minimum duration: one semester.
2. Research & Scientific Internships
- Conduct scientific research projects
- Participate in academic internships
- Gather data or materials for academic work
- Collaborate or teach alongside Polish university staff
Fields of Study
All academic disciplines are eligible. Applicants can choose any field of study offered at participating Polish institutions.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides a monthly stipend, based on the applicant’s academic level:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s students: PLN 1,800/month
- PhD students: PLN 2,500/month
- Academic staff/PhD holders: PLN 3,500/month
Note: This is a financial-only scholarship. Applicants are responsible for securing admission or research collaboration independently with a Polish host institution.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible Applicants:
- Swiss citizens enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s programs
- PhD candidates registered at a Swiss university
- Academic staff or researchers not employed by a Polish institution
Not Eligible:
- Individuals with dual Polish-Swiss citizenship
- Applicants planning to complete an entire PhD in Poland
- Candidates already employed by a Polish university

- All supporting documents listed in Section IV of the form
- Documents must be in English or Polish, or accompanied by certified translations

- Prepare and complete all documents.
- Merge documents into one PDF file.

Deadline:

Selection Timeline
- Applications will be forwarded by the University of Zurich to the Polish Embassy in Bern.
- The embassy will shortlist applicants and recommend them to NAWA.
- NAWA will contact selected candidates to complete an online submission.
- Final deadline for online submission to NAWA: September 30, 2025
Important Information
- Applicants are fully responsible for arranging academic placement in Poland.
- NAWA does not assist with university admission.
- Any extension requests must be made through swissuniversities and approved by the host institution.
